Surface Performance use a ASTM F355 A-Missile Measurement Tester to calculate Gmax values. There is a accelerometer inside the 20lb missile, upon impact it measures the impact attenuation of the playing surface. Testing is carried out in 10 set locations around the field. These values give a field average. Surfaces must have a rating below 200g’s to be deemed fit for use.
