Gmax testing available in Connecticut and throughout America

Surface Performance have qualified technicians available to carry out gmax, HIC and a range of safety and performance testing to artificial playing surfaces in Connecticut.

Gmax testing has become a fundamental test to ensure all surface comply with ASTM Standard F1936 and are therefore not exposing players to excessive risks of incurring injuries/concussions.

The gmax rating of a field is calculated by dropping our F355 A-missile in 10 different locations across the field. It is dropped 3 times per location and an average is calculated using the final two drops. ASTM require fields to have a rating no greater than 200g’s to be deemed safe for use.
